I am so happy you have landed in my little corner of the internet!
Since I was 11 years old, I did mini photo shoots of my friend and I, and this lit the fire of my passion for photography. At that moment I knew photography is my happy place! A lot of people will not believe it when I tell you that I am actually an introvert. However, when I pick up my camera, I get this confidence. It is like my camera is my Supergirl cloak – giving me the power to make people happy.
I am a sucker for love and authentic, real-life moments. I also have a particular soft spot for children and dogs. With me, what you see is what you get: A heart full of love that always has space for someone extra and a photographer that lets you know that you are beautiful and that fake smiles are NOT in my dictionary.

The Mission
To make my clients laugh, to make them have fun and for them to feel so comfortable that they forget that we are busy with a photo shoot, because that is when I can capture wrinkled nose laughs, the way your spouse looks at you or your baby throws their head back when something is really funny. I want to get to know you and capture exact moments of where you are right now. Yes, there will be posing and directions; but playing and being yourself is what you will be doing at the end of the day.
How I see myself as your photographer:
- Easy and fun: bum on the ground, legs crossed, making sure I don’t miss out on that perfect shot or camera angle.
- A touch of unique and personal: Unix Photography Group – A.K.A. Unique Nickie – your truly unique photographer. That’s me!
- A person that is not shy to sing (an out-of-tune version, obviously!) of “Baby shark”. Anything to make your kids smile. Right, mom?
- And, of course, the attention to detail part! It is my baby to make sure we get your “good side”, make you feel comfortable in front of my lens (believe me, I know how you feel) and to give you those awesome memories. Why else do we take photos?
So, what does Unix mean?
From as far back as I can remember I’ve always had nicknames, but the one that stuck was Nix/Nicks. I just had to use it! It then became clear what I had to call my photography venture: Unique Nix … UNIX!
The “U” stands for unique, because who wants normal when you can have a unique photography experience filled with laughter and fun?
Through the years I’ve learned to “go with the flow” during a photo shoot:
- Fussy baby? Hyper toddler? Stubborn child? Don’t worry! I will be the singing photographer who captures their sweet emotions forever.
- Is your guy not a photo person? Don’t worry! He’ll be walking away afterwards saying: “That wasn’t so bad.”
- You don’t know where to start with your wardrobe, hair, makeup or even location? I’ve got your back with vendor referrals and ideas!
